About Hoops4Heroes

Hoops4Heroes is the brainchild of Craig Goldenfarb, personal injury lawyer and owner at the Law Offices of Craig Goldenfarb, P.A. in West Palm Beach, and the firm’s marketing director, Tom Copeland. The purpose is to raise money for veterans. While there are a number of very well organized fundraisers for veterans throughout Palm Beach County, Hoops4Heroes is our South Florida’s only 3-On-3 basketball tournament fundraiser.

During our first two years, 2014 and 2015, Hoops4Heroes raised more than $5,000 for Wounded Warrior Project, a national non-profit supporting returning combat veterans. In 2016, Hoops4Heroes was postponed from our normal month of November (to coincide with Veteran’s Day), to March 2017.

For 2017, Hoops4Heroes has partnered with Wounded Veterans Relief Fund and launched a CrowdRise campaign to raise our goal of $5,000 for local Vets.

Hoops4Heroes is held at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Rubin Arena in downtown West Palm Beach, where more than 60 players converge to play the round-robin style knockout tournament. The event is opened with a Navy Color Guard, the national anthem, and then lasts approximately five hours until two teams are left in the bracket to play the final game.

Donations are raised by team registration fees, and our generous donors, including Craig Goldenfarb, who pays for the cost to host the event so that every dollar raised can go to the beneficiary organization.
